  • What we offer

    €10,000 


    Cross-disciplinary peer support through monthly artists in residence process meetings.


    Access to UCD library, lectures and other university resources.


    Research support through the extensive network of UCD academics, researchers and supporting partners.


  • What's expected of the artist

    Use the residency facilities to develop a new body of work on average two days a week, over the course of the year. This ask is flexible but being on campus is important if you want to take full advantage of what's on offer.


    Be proactive in developing your network of researchers, staff and students.


    Participate in the monthly artists in residence process meetings.


    Liaise with UCD Parity Studios to make the process of your research and ongoing exhibitions etc visible through our website and social media platforms.



    Give a practical art workshop related to your work to UCD staff and/or students.


    Credit UCD Parity Studios and relevant partners in the exhibition/documentation of your work arising from the residency.


    Submit a feedback report on completion of your residency.

    The brief and themes outlined in each Open Call are different but the basic structure of the applications is similar. 

    Applicants are asked to submit the following information as a single pdf, in this order:

    Tell us about yourself Briefly describe who you are and outline your most recent artistic achievements. (*Max 100 words)

    Your process Briefly describe the approaches you take in developing your work, what materials you use and how you disseminate your work. (*Max 200 words)

    Your proposal

    Why you want to undertake a residency with (the supporting College or research centre)

    Description of your proposed project including the key area of research/practice you’re interested in.

    How you would make your process visible/known to others. (*Max 250 words) 

    Existing Commitments

    Please specify commitments you have to other work, residencies, exhibitions/performances, conferences, research/education in 2020/2021.

    Examples of previous work

    • Examples of work - Up to 10 examples of your work with one image per page. Please label each image clearly with title, dimensions, materials, gallery/site of installation /performance, date.
    • List of images/work
    • Links to video/sound pieces (max 3 minute clips or indicate which 3 minutes you recommend)

    Please note applications submitted outside of the Open Call submission dates are not reviewed.
